Ever since 1999 Viktor Orban delivers an anual "State of the Nation" speech, following the American model. The weird thing is that after losing the elections in 2002, and for every year of the 8 that he was on the opposition, he continued on giving his "State of the Nation" speech.
It's rather peculiar for somebody who not so long ago was talking about the Eastern Winds and tried to court China, Saudi Arabia and Russia...
His traditional farewell of "Go Hungary, go Hungarians" seems also to be based in Berlusconi's "Forza Italia": both have an air to soccer stadium chant.
In this year's speech he urged Hungarians to "ignore Europe", and mainly blamed the previous Socialist-Liberal coalition for just about everything.
